[GeoNetwork-users] restrict OAI-PMH queries

Hi,

I am curious about one thing - I have a GeoNetwork node set up now, with a mix of documents and data + a lot of harvested records.

Now, I would like to limit what data is being published/queried/Accessed through the OAI-PMH interface to documents and excluding all harvested records - how would I go about doing that?

Any comments and tips are welcome!

Regards,
Hugo

Hi Hugo

I don't know too much about OAI-PMH interface, but probably is similar to
CSW to expose the metadata: any public metadata (allowed to group ALL) will
be available to anyone using OAI-PMH interface without authentication.

Not really sure that can be managed additional filters to exclude for
example harvested metadata, unless is not public.

Hi Hugo,

One option is to help harvesters only harvest your local records is to use OAI's "set" query parameter.

To do so, create a GeoNetwork category (such as "Harvested-Not"), and to add all your non-harvested records to that category.

The OAI "ListSets" query
       [host]/geonetwork/srv/eng/oaipmh?verb=ListSets
gets a response which lists all available sets
(the OAI "sets", within GeoNetwork, are the GeoNetwork "categories" ):
If the naming of the set is clear, harvesters will be able to guess what each set is.

The OAI "ListSets" response provides both the setSpec and SetName, for each set, e.g.
       <setSpec>maps</setSpec>
       <setName>Maps & graphics</setName>

Harvesters, using the OAI verbs of ListIdentifiers or ListRecords, can filter using the setSpec,
e.g.
[host]/geonetwork/srv/eng/oaipmh?verb=ListIdentifiers&from=2002-07-10&until=2014-09-13&set=maps&metadataPrefix=iso19139.anzlic
