Hi,
I'm working with a database that might need to be moved from one server to
another server sometimes, and we want to have a short, simple identifier for
each record that will remain intact during import/export. It looks like the
"id" value changes during import/export, and the "uuid" remains intact, but
is much too long for our needs.
Is there a way to achieve this short, persistent identifier? Can the uuid
be cast as a short int in any way, or is there another approach to this?
