At Creativa, Prodevelop, IVER and Software Colaborativo, we've been
working on a project to develop a prototype for an SDI for Venezuela
government (IDEGeoVEN). On this context, we've translated part of the
GeoNetwork documentation and we want to share this work with the
GeoNetwork community. This work has been funded by the National
Institute of Information Technologies (Centro Nacional de Tecnologías de
la Información - CNTI [1]) with the support of the Simón Bolívar
Geographic Institute (Instituto Geográfico Simón Bolívar de Venezuela -
IGVSB [2]).
This is not a complete work because we've translated the users guide but
not the administrator one, anyway we would love to see this work
completed as a geonetwork community effort.
On the technical side we've used a CAT tool called OmegaT[3] to produce
the translated docbook files. This way is really easy to manage the
updates and the preferable way to store the translation at the SVN.
By the way, the translated documents in HTML (single and multipart) as
well as PDF versions can be obtained (temporally) at [4].

That is very nice work! I suggest you and me work together to get your Spanish contributions into SVN. I would also like to discuss the Omega tool with you to better understand it I propose we get in touch using Skype or IRC to work on the actual integration.

Sure, we can meet anywhere, irc or skype and see how works this thing.
If more people are interested we can meet at irc.
In the meantime, I've moved the contents of the translation to my public
svn folder[1] . There are instructions in Spanish about how it works[2],
I'll try to translate them into English if you think it's worth (is this
translating metadocumentation about translating??? uh).
