When trying to harvest our THREDDS server I can access many of the terminal catalog datasets when specifying the dataset in the catalog URL, like...
(http://oos.soest.hawaii.edu/thredds/catalog/hioos/model/atm/ncep_global/catalog.xml?dataset=ncep_global/NCEP_Global_Atmospheric_Model_best.ncd)
but can only access the service when specifying the catalog URL like...
(http://oos.soest.hawaii.edu/thredds/catalog/hioos/model/atm/ncep_global/catalog.xml)
The first three checkboxes to create metadata for all services, collection datasets and atomic datasets are ticked and the first radio button is selected to create default metadata for both Collection Datasets & Atomic Datasets. (see http://128.171.104.50/geonetwork/GN_assist/GN_fullcatalog.PNG).
This thredds server has many sub-folders - could this be the problem. I have tried the same thing on a simple no sub-folder thredds server (http://oceanwatch.pifsc.noaa.gov/thredds/catalog.xml) and this works.
This thredds server has many datasets simply called 'Best Time Series' - is multiple datasets with the same name an issue (not my choice - I don't tend the thredds server).
Is it simply bad xml?
