[GeoNetwork-users] Ubuntu 9.04 / Tomcat 5.5 / Geonetwork 2.4.2 - 404 /geonetwork/srv/en/main.home was not found on this server.

I did a search of the archives and can not find any reference to this
problem.

I installed according to the 2.1 tutorial
(http://geonetwork-opensource.org/documentation/how-to/installing-geonetwork-2-1-0-on-ubuntu)
which seemed the most appropriate option. I go to

http://localhost/geonetwork

and I'm getting the following error:

Not Found

The requested URL /geonetwork/srv/en/main.home was not found on this
server.

Apache/2.2.11 (Ubuntu) mod_jk/1.2.26 PHP/5.2.6-3ubuntu4.5 with
Suhosin-Patch Server at localhost Port 80

I've double checked my config files to match the tutorial as well as
permissions, and restarted apache but the error persists.

Any insight into possible causes for this problem would be greatly
appreciated.

hi Trevor,

from what you write, I'd say it's most likely you use the default port of
Tomcat, which is 8080. So try http://localhost:8080/geonetwork ?

Kind regards

right,

sorry, I now see you want to set it up through Apache, in which case you
wouldn't need port 8080 ..

So I'll pass this on.

Success !

I also receive this error when going to localhost/geonetwork and have not
been able to solve it. Do you know if anyone has found a solution yet?

(8080--> default tomcat port; chabge if it is not yours.)
