I would have a feedback about the update from the Geonetwork 2.0 to the
GeoNetwork 2.2.
How do we have to do ?
We must install the new version 2.2 ?
Do we lose the metadata of the previous version (2.0)?
Hi Arno,
You have to install the new version next to the old one. Configure the new instance to suit your needs and use GAST for the migration. At the end of that migration you may also want to convert ISO19115 formatted metadata into ISO19139 formatted metadata, again using GAST.
There are some instructions in the respective panels in GAST.
Ciao,
Jeroen

Ok
Thank you very much Jeroen,
I have a question about this "new version next to the old one"...
I don't understand "next". Is it "instead of the old one" ?
Can you explain please?
This new version keeps the metadata of the old version without changes ?
Thanks
Arno

You install the new version in a new location, e.g. in c:\geonetwork220 or so. The migration will transfer all metadata, privileges and data to the new database and new data location (if you want to keep the data in the same location, first configure the data location of the gn2.2 version to point to the same data directory as the GN2.0 version. this is done in the config.xml file in the web/geonetwork/WEB-INF folder, around line 122 (<param name="dataDir" value="WEB-INF/data" />)).
The migration will ingest the metadata from the old installation but will not by default transform the metadata into 19139 formatted records. That's what requires the second action I described.
Hope this helps.

Jeroen
