[GeoNetwork-users] use of Inspire search options in GN2.6.0

Hello,

I would like to know the requirements for using the Inspire search options in Geonetwork 2.6.0. I have inserted Inspire compliant metadata into the catalogue but searches using Inspire criteria do not return any result.

I copy below the Inspire theme section of a metadata record:

<gmd:descriptiveKeywords>
   <gmd:MD_Keywords>
      <gmd:keyword>
         <gco:CharacterString>Land cover</gco:CharacterString>
      </gmd:keyword>
      <gmd:thesaurusName>
          <gmd:CI_Citation>
            <gmd:title>
               <gco:CharacterString>GEMET - INSPIRE themes, version 1.0</gco:CharacterString>
            </gmd:title>
            <gmd:date>
               <gmd:CI_Date>
                  <gmd:date>
                     <gco:Date>2008-06-01</gco:Date>
                  </gmd:date>
                  <gmd:dateType>
                     <gmd:CI_DateTypeCode codeList="http://www.isotc211.org/2005/resources/codeList.xml#CI_DateTypeCode" codeListValue="publication"/>
                  </gmd:dateType>
               </gmd:CI_Date>
                  </gmd:date>
         </gmd:CI_Citation>
      </gmd:thesaurusName>
   </gmd:MD_Keywords>
</gmd:descriptiveKeywords>

Does GN expect e.g. the Citation to be formatted in a specific way to identify it as an Inspire keyword?

I could not find any information about this in the documentation therefore any help would be appreciated.

Best regards,
Paul

Hi Paul

If INSPIRE search option is enabled in administration settings, GeoNetwork
uses the keywords introduced in the metadata to match against the INSPIRE
keywords. Your metadata keyword seem ok.

The problem can be if you created the metadata previously to enable the
INSPIRE option. Then a reindex of metadata is required (in administration
page also).

I have to check for next 2.6.x version to do the reindexing automatically
when enable/disable the INSPIRE option so should be transparent for the
user.

Please try this to see if works correctly after the reindex.

Jose García

Hi Jose,

I reindexed the metadata but it does not change anything. “Land cover” is listed as keyword in the Keywords menu of the search interface and selecting it returns 18 results but ticking Land cover under Annex II returns 0 result.

Do you have another suggestion?

Thanks.

Best regards,
Paul

Hi

The problem seem caused by a latest change done to move INSPIRE setting from
a config file (config-gui.xml) to the GUI settings. The search code is using
the correct GUI setting, but the indexing code seem using the old config
setting.

You can get it working adding also the old setting. Edit the file
web/geonetwork/WEB-INF/config-gui.xml and add the inspire parameter:

<config>
* <inspire>1</inspire>*

You'll need to restart GeoNetwork and reindex the metadata.

This is temporal, until released 2.6.1. Going to commit a fix, so indexing
code also uses the GUI setting as expected.

My apologies about this.

Jose García

Hi Jose,

Thanks for this fix which solves the keyword issue.
With respect to Inspire related functionalities, the search by Annex number is not working even after applying your fix. Could it be fixed also in 2.6.1?

Thanks for your support and quick response.

Best regards,
Paul

Hi!

Has somebody ever tried to get the INSPIRE search options running for
metadata in German?

I did everything, described in this thread. In addition I took the German
keywords for INSPIRE themes from GEMET and put them into strings.xml. So
they look just the same in the metadata and in strings.xml. The INSPIRE
search does not work for German metadata, still.

Has this every been tested by anybody? Will it work in 2.6.1 for German
metadata?

Thanks in advance and tara for now!
