[GeoNetwork-users] Using Tomcat on a server

After installation geonetwork resides in C:\Geonetwork\... We want now to
use Tomcat as webserver. We have tried to create geonetwork.xml and put it
into ...Catalina\localhost folder. Tomcat does not, however, recognize
geonetwork. The only way to success has been to copy geonetwork under Tomcat
webapps folder. Why? We would like to not to do this copy operation.

We've had no problem deploying by means of Tomcat Context files for several years now, on many different servers with different versions of GN and Tomcat. Please list your geonetwork.xml file.

in the Tomcat configuration...... you can find some file such as
server.xml....... and other...

in server.xml...... I thing.... there is the tag context, add a new
context for GeoNetwork, and it will work (add another context also for
intermap)!!!!

This (putting Context elements into server.xml) is -explicitly, specifically- discouraged by the Tomcat project.

It will work, for now, but it is deprecated.

ok....... you can use the same procedure but put this Geonetwork and
the Intermap context in In the $CATALINA_BASE/conf/context.xml

this is not deprecated and has the same effect.

While it's good to have an alternative solution, if I were having this problem, I would want to determine why my Tomcat instance isn't behaving according to spec. It may point to an underlying instability.
