[Geoserver-devel] 1.4.M0 where art thou?

Brent and/or Chris:

Clint has built installers for both 1.4.M0 and the next release on trunk, can you see that these get distributed? Not sure if he managed to ask for help clearly enough.

From tuesdays meeting:
- Jira: I have released 1.4.M0 in jira, but I do not think that the project was tracking the accomplishments that way - so the release notes do not make the most sense.
- Announcement: Chris was going to grab this.

If it is not too much trouble can we include a note about the recent uDig release? This 1.4.M0 is the first release that works with the uDig walkthrough 2 since november  At least send the uDig email list a special email it will make them happy.

Sure. Is he on sourceforge? If he gives me his user name I can give him 'release tech' permissions to upload. Or if he puts it on dist.codehaus.org I'll find some time tomorrow to do the upload.

Could you make a quick release notes for me? I'm not sure exactly what all happened. And are you including the new geosdev docs with the release?

For sure.

Sorry Chris, I was gone.

To answer your questions:
1. The release notes should be short as this was a technical change, not user visible
2. I am not sure if the developer docs get included with the release? Perhaps with the source release?

It looks like the release did not get out after all, Brent was just helpful sorting out what is happening on IRC.

What it seems to come down to is:
1) 1.4.x branch (w/ geotools 2.2.x) will be released as 1.4.M0
2) geoserver trunk (w/ geotools 2.1.x) has IP changes, but will not be released at a..
3) geoserver2.2.x branch (w/ geotools 2.2.x) has ported IP changes from trunk and will be released with KML support as? 1.3.1

I am going to look for a web page to make sense of this, or write one.

Well, presumably this is a developers release, so people would care.

2. I am not sure if the developer docs get included with the release? Perhaps with the source release?

Yeah, that makes sense.
