[Geoserver-devel] 2.1.3 release?

Hi folks,

How do people feel about a 2.1.3 release next week? I had mentioned before that I would need a release sometime in november for a client but the schedule slipped a little bit. Regardless, while it is still not crucial for us to put out a release this month, I think it is probably time for one… and what better time than right before the holidays

Thoughts?

1+ Would be great to have such a present under the tree

... and we can update the OSGeo Live DVD to prepare for the next
fossgis event in Germany next march (with 100% completed German
translation so far :

Would like this very much. There is a long list of stuff done since 2.1.2, 51 jiras:
http://jira.codehaus.org/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?reset=true&jqlQuery=project+%3D+GEOS+AND+fixVersion+%3D+17865+AND+status+in+%28Resolved%2C+Closed%29+ORDER+BY+priority+DESC%2C+key+DESC

I guess we should also look into what was in the 2.1.3 list and see if there is anything
that really should be done before the release:

http://jira.codehaus.org/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?reset=true&jqlQuery=project+%3D+GEOS+AND+fixVersion+%3D+17865+AND+status+%3D+Open+ORDER+BY+priority+DESC%2C+key+DESC

The WFS-T breaking one should be high on the list imho, not sure about other jiras. Ideas?

Cheers

I assume you mean GEOS-4854? It wasn’t in the list but i just set its version to 2.1.3 and upp’ed its priority. I agree that should definitely get into the release. There is currently an updated patch awaiting review.

Ah sorry, did not notice this one, stumbled into it because I wanted to add something else in the thread.
The patch looks better, and afaik there is no way to determine the port the server is running on anyways
(save resorting to container specific checks) so I guess this one will do.
The situation where a single phisical server has multiple installs with a “road” layer and different attributes
is probably not uncommon in a ISP like setup, but I don’t see how a request going to GeoServer A should refer
to a type description on server B (would make no sense, I believe).
So +1

Back to the original reason why I wanted to add to this thread: don’t we need a tagged GeoWebCache
version for this release?
I also noticed that Gabriel committed some GWC related changes to 2.1.x a few hours ago, is the
situation still fluid there?

Cheers
Andrea
