[Geoserver-devel] 2.6.5 release progress

Kevin:

Following up from last weeks meeting, I believe we are still waiting for a “whitelist” fix to be back ported to 2.6.x. As I understand you was going to look at this last Thursday - and did not get a chance?

Can I start releasing geotools (not sure if we need a GWC) or is better to wait?

···

Jody Garnett

I thought Andrea was going to look at the whitelist backport to 2.6.x on Monday but perhaps I misunderstood. I’ll take another look at it.

A new GWC 1.6.x release is needed as it has its own whitelist fix which is in place and ready to go. I think we should be OK to release GT 13.5 and GWC 1.6.3 now and then GS 2.6.5 when we get that fix backported.

Sorry, I meant 12.5 not 13.5

Thanks Kevin/Andrea I would like to kick this out the door.

Going through pull/request fixes now and trying to see what is expected to be back ported for 2.6.x. If I find anything I will kick off nightly/cite builds for final geotools revision numbers.

It seems to be down to some heisenbugs in the WFS Unit tests related to the XXE fix. They don’t seem to represent actual problems so much as being issues with the tests that appear and disappear depending on how I run the tests.

Jody, could you grab https://github.com/smithkm/geoserver/tree/xstream_whitelist_2.6 and do a build to see if this manifests for you or if it’s just my machine being crazy?

I thought Andrea was going to look at the whitelist backport to 2.6.x on Monday but perhaps I misunderstood. I’ll take another look at it.

I don’t remember that, nor I see it in the meeting minutes.

The short version of it is that I’ll have no time to help with pretty much anything until FOSS4G is over,

but things may change, maybe keep up up to date, I’ll try to leverage whatever occasion possible

to help, it’s just unlikely that I’ll have one.

Noticed the README.txt still references Java 6, fixing now.

Following up from last weeks meeting, I believe we are still waiting for a “whitelist” fix to be back ported to 2.6.x. As I understand you was going to look at this last Thursday - and did not get a chance?

Can I start releasing geotools (not sure if we need a GWC) or is better to wait?
