A couple notes on the 2.8 release scheduled for last week.
We hare having a “bad week” with repo.boundlessgeo.com (and indeed many boundless websites) so I am not sure if everything is stable enough to release today.
Trodden commented on GEOS-7124, but perhaps not strongly enough to reopen the issue and consider the released blocked.
The specific issue is turning using WPS from eclipse (org.geoserver.config.JAIEXTInfo cannot be resolved).

Guys, sometimes reading the error messages actually helps: that's what you
get when Eclipse cannot find an import (and as you
might remember, Eclipse compiles and starts anyways, minus throwing an
exception at runtime if you use that portion of the code)
it's a classpath/compile error, has nothing to do with xstream whitelists

I got another report from a developer in Victoria, I will hunt down the details on Monday with Kevin.
Have we had any reports of xstream / wps failure coming out of the release candidate? Or just the GWC one Kevin found earlier.

The recent comments on GEOS-7124 do not represent a blocker, the WPS issues all seem to have been caused by poor documentation.
