[Geoserver-devel] a .NET Client for PDAand GeoServer

Hello,
My name's Ezequiel Aranda and i'm working in a project to get a PDA
client built in .net c# that could work as a Geoserver WFS Client.
The idea is make a client with a GMLParser to interact to a Geoserver
and get some alphanumeric information, a kind of prototype that could
show further posibilities, no graphic information by now.
If anyone have any information about this issue, i'll be very thankful.

Thanks,
from Santa Fe, Argentina,

Hello Ezequiel,

This sure sounds like an interesting project. In terms of GeoServer /
WFS clients, the geotools library has a good WFS client but its written
in java. It would require quite a bit of work to port to .NET i would
think. Perhaps there is a easier way to do this, not too sure.

To implement a full blown scalable GML parser is actually a very hard
problem. However it sounds like your needs might be more "demonstration"
based so you could probably take a few short cuts. I am not too familiar
with .NET XML technologies unfortunately. I am sure someone more
knowledgeable on this list can help out.

Hope that helps, please feel free to post any of your questions to the
list. We are happy to help.
