[Geoserver-devel] Adding jdbc-mosaic to GeoServer downloads (was Re: Did you read me last comment on GEOS-2524)

Andrea, I am not sure if you read my last comment on
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-2524
since there is only 1 watcher (I think that is me) and the issue is assigned to Simone.

Indeed I did not. Only the reporter, the assignee, and the watchers
get notification mails on jira comments, only the act of opening
a new issue is forwarded to the ml.

For including a new plugin for GeoServer you have to ask on
the GeoServer mailing list. CC'ing it now. For the
ones that wonder what this is, it's about adding the
jdbc-mosaic coverage plugin to GeoServer downloads.

The documentation in the GEOT wiki is technical,
a user guide would help in adding it as an extension.
Something like a tutorial,
take a GeoTiff image, retile it, import it into a
database, connect the db to GeoServer and serve out coverages,
step by step so that anyone with some understanding of
how to use a command line tool can use it.

As for including a demo with GeoServer, that's not
possible unless the plugin becomes part of the core
distribution.
As an extension, you can still refer people to the tutorial
or bundle in the extension a ready made (and small) H2 sample.

Cheers
Andrea
