Hi all,
we have discussed a couple of times already about the use of “aws s3 cp”, and the issue
with old stale files being left on the server when a module graduates.
Just by accident I’ve found this command, “aws s3 sync”:
https://docs.aws.amazon.com/en_us/cli/latest/userguide/cli-services-s3-commands.html#using-s3-commands-managing-objects-sync
Seems like a:
aws s3 sync --delete localDir s3://myBucket
would do what we need… with a caviat:
“s3 sync updates any files that have a size or modified time that are different from files with the same name at the destination.”
Hum… so the issue is that we’d need to keep a local copy that is not fully overwritten by the build, ensuring only that modified
files get actually updated. Maybe a local rsynch can do that?
Cheers
Andrea
