[Geoserver-devel] ANNOUNCE: Open Source GIS Conference in Ottawa June 9th to 11th 2004

Hello all,

If you haven't heard yet, there will be an Open Source GIS conference in Ottawa, Canada on June 9th to 11th 2004 at Carleton University (http://www.omsug.ca/osgis2004/). The early bird registration ends April 30th, so please visit the site and register online.

Also, we would love to hold a workshop on Geoserver at the conference. Is there a power user who would be interested in giving a workshop? This would be an excellent opportunity to show off the features of Geoserver to an interested audience. Currently we have workshops planned for OpenEV, PostGIS, and GRASS, but would love to have Geoserver included as well. If you are interested, or could recommend someone for this, please email me directly. I would love to see it at the conference.

thanks everyone,

Jeff

Hi all.

Do we have anyone from GeoTools or GeoServer going to this? It's something that I would definitely have gone to myself had it not been for the timing (our baby is due to be born somewhere between the 9th and the 17th of June, so being away would not go down well

The message suggests that someone related to PostGIS will be there, I don't suppose its someone from Refactions who also works on GS and or GT2 is it?

I think this is going to be a very important meeting for OS GIS, and it would be a shame if at least one of us wasn't there, if only to take notes

On a related note, is anyone (IanT?) thinking of attending EOGEO 2004? (http://www.eogeo.org/Workshops/EOGEO2004)

Hey James,

You're right, Paul Ramsey from Refractions is giving 2 workshops on PostGIS & MapServer. But that's already a lot, and we'd love someone else to give a workshop on GeoServer/GeoTools.

I hope someone from GT2 attends EOGEO, it looks like a very good conference.
I do not know if Rob is coming to MUM, but he could probably be an excellent presenter for GT and GS. I would like to bring Jody to the conference, but would feel guilty about taking time out of his development schedule -- he has a very aggressive timeline, and every week counts. I will discuss with him regarding what he thinks is reasonable.
