[Geoserver-devel] Backporting full asynch support for importer rest requests

Hi,

a month ago I’ve committed the code to support single shot
async requests against the importer rest api, as discussed here:

I would like to backport that to the 2.7.x branch, the commits in question are:

No objections. Not sure how much feedback we get from master other than that the test cases pass.

Not from the user base, but we have been using the backported code for a
while now
on 2.7.x (in a custom branch)
