Hi all,

as anticipated in the discussion for GSIP-214, I’d like to backport it down to 2.20.x

before the last 2.20.x release, so that GeoNode can use the functionality in its current release (the GSIP was developed with the intention of being used to allow GeoNode direct changes to data structures in the database).

For reference, here is the PR:

It’s almost fully new functionality that one is not forced to use, docs and tests for it, plus a one line refactor in ResourcePool, moving the flush of data stores from a listener to a clear method.

Any objections? In the meantime I’ll prepare the backports PRs, to see if there is any interesting conflict or test failure.
