Hi
I installed geoServer.war, version 1.2 in my Tomcat.
I did not do any modification on any properties files.
http://localhost:8080/geoserver/wfs/GetCapabilities gives me the right xml
file.
However, when I try to access:
http://localhost:8080/geoserver/wms?request=GetMap&layers=bc_roads&bbox=489153,5
433000,529000,5460816&width=400&height=200&srs=EPSG:27354&styles=normal&Format=i
mage/png
It gives the errors in the email below.
Do I need to configure bc_roads somewhere?
Acutually I am a little bit confused about the installation notes. It
keeps referring to geoserver/conf, but I do not see such a dir. Am I
supposed to create one myself? I found services.xml and catalog.xml files
in WEB-INF dir.
Please help. Thanks.
I am so far impressed with the vision and archicture of geoServer.

ServiceException code="">bc_roads: no such layer on this server:
java.util.NoSuchElementException: there is no FeatureTypeConfig named
bc_roads configured in this server at

I figured out the problem:
bc_roads needs to be referred as topp:bc_roads
The document should be motified.
