[Geoserver-devel] Brent / Justin where are you ;-)

Hi Guys,

In this mornings meeting we were discussing progress and are left stuck on a couple of issues...
1. Brent: the PSC Process starting off depends on sending email, anything we can do to help?
2. Justin: has two documentation issues that he wants the 1.4.M1 release to wait on, and then all the other open Jira issues.

We went through the list of issues for 1.4.0-M1 and found ourselves stuck on most of them, either assigned to Justin or "waiting" on a fix (and thus assigned to Justin).

I am a little out of the loop here and would love to know what can be done, here is what we came up with in the meeting.

Volunteers:
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-655 Cite Tests
- Allessio: can run cite tests if we can give him something to test this week

http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-645 GeoServer Platform
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-648 Modules
- Jody: will review and/or supply first draft.

http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-652 Documentation Writing Guidelines
- Jody : documentation guidelines resolved, can be used to review existing content before closing

http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-647 Bundling your Plugin
- Oliver: Move to the next Plugin

http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-643 Eclipse Quickstart
- Allessio: Eclipse Quickstart with running Jetty as an external program, will look into it and report back

Cheers,
Jody

Hi All,

I apologize for my absense. I was planning on being all setup for monday,
but recent travelling issues have prevented that. So at the moment I dont
really have a place to work.

We are ready to run the tests. All that needs to be done is to configure
your GeoServer with the citeWFS configuration and launch Jetty. Docs here:

I apologize, they are a bit hidden and are not yet complete. But Andrea
has ran cite tests with the new buld system and should be able to provide
guidance.

http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-648 Modules
- Jody: will review and/or supply first draft.

Cool, I completed the GeoServer platform, but please feel free to review,
modify, improve. Modules is a work in progress. I started documenting the
platform module. However the Modules page shouldn't be a showstopper for
this release as it will be a work in progress as it is.

As I stated before, running with an external program doesn't work so well.
However I experimented with running maven directly with java, all the
necessary info to do so can be found in the mvn.bat script in your maven
install. It sounds complex but it actually turns out to be a lot simpler
then using the java remote debugging api. So it just has to be documented.
I will try to make this a priority.

Cheers,
Jody
