Yeah, the api is there on trunk but not really usable at the moment.
Integrating it into the rest of the app is quite a large job and the
target right now is a stable 1.4 release.
This kind of change also has to go through the GSIP process. Most of the
work is done on the ows4 branch. When the time comes I will put together
the appropriate proposal in order to do the port.

Well we did have this as a target before the GISIP process came in, right now is very hard to hook in a "one off" DataStore as a program. Basically reduced to constructing DTOs and throwing it at the system
Good to see progamtic usability is still a priority though.
