[Geoserver-devel] catalog (geotools) not ready on 1.4.0

So apparently I missed this, the easy to use catalog api has infact been created, it is just not ready on trunk ....

So rather set up things directly:

catalog.addService( service )

We will need to make use of the geoserver conf system etc...

Cheers,
Jody

Yeah, the api is there on trunk but not really usable at the moment.
Integrating it into the rest of the app is quite a large job and the
target right now is a stable 1.4 release.

This kind of change also has to go through the GSIP process. Most of the
work is done on the ows4 branch. When the time comes I will put together
the appropriate proposal in order to do the port.

Well we did have this as a target before the GISIP process came in, right now is very hard to hook in a "one off" DataStore as a program. Basically reduced to constructing DTOs and throwing it at the system

Good to see progamtic usability is still a priority though.
