I have just installed Oracle Corporation: 1.8.0_20 (Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM) and Geoserver 2.6-snapshot starts with it and all I have tried from the admin utility so far is OK. Do you developers know some features which are most likely to fail with jre8 so I could perhaps make some tests?

I think we would have to try building with Java 8 and see what tests fail - in order to make a good guess on what features would fail.
