The overview page was kinda of wrong, it was an intro to 1.4.x rather then geoserver development.
Wrote a nice happy welcome message, feedback back (and spelling check) welcome.
Oh I tried to outline the scope of the document and some background knowledge that would be helpfule for new developers.
