we from terrestris would love to be listed in the “Experienced Providers” section on the “GeoServer Commercial Support” page, right now we are listed under “Additional Services” (http://geoserver.org/support/).
We think we qualify as being a provider that meets the requirements as they are currently listed: “The commercial providers in this category have not done major contributions directly to the GeoServer project, but they are trusted as reliable organizations with experience around GeoServer. They are more recommended for those looking for local support, and can grow to become core contributors.” We tried in 2017 (https://github.com/geoserver/geoserver.github.io/pull/56), and eventually this attempt came to a stop in 2018 and 2020.
Nonetheless I would like to start again, and will gladly provide a pull request, if you think we qualify.
Here are some of the things with / around GeoServer we did (and will very likely continue):
Running/conducting German workshops for beginners and more experienced users at the FOSSGIS conference continously since 2015, ususally 2 WS per year
There might be more that we are doing, but the above is already quite a thing, I think.
What else do you think we should do, to move up in that “hierarchy” of commercial support providers? I can of course come up with a pull request anytime.
We would really gladly help this awesome project wherever you think this is a good idea.

I appreciate the details (and am very much a fan of GeoStyler and SHOGun), you can see some more discussion in the meeting notes.
I am +1 based on the community module (would loved to see if it is active), docker participation, and community outreach activities.
In general I look towards a contribution to GeoServer sustainability, but really would like to see experienced providers be comfortable PRs and our proposal process (so they can demonstrate the capacity to do new development work on behalf of their customers.)
I understand that our current breakdown of service providers is not as clear as it could be.
Hi Marc,
happy to see this request, and that it contains a list of items all related to community involvement
and support, that’s exactly what I want to see.
I was just starting to wonder about geostyler community module liveliness:
the module has not been touched in well over a year and still depends on GeoStyler 4.3,
but I see there are a number of more recent releases. Glad to hear you have plans to keep it up to date.
+1 on graduation to “experienced provider”
Cheers
Andrea

No worries, I understood that this is likely to improve.

thanks for the encouraging feedback. WRT to GeoStyler, yes, we have to do more here, #and we want to do more here. Track this discussion https://github.com/geostyler/geostyler/discussions/1324 for the progress, as we started working already.
Cheers,
Marc
