Hello all,
We develop an application that use Geoserver in backend to create geoservices on PostGIS data.
Our idea is to write a Java class that is able to communicate with Geoserver for the geoservice creation process.
The question is: What would be the best way four our Java class to communicate with / control Geoserver? Should it use the Geoserver REST API, or directly the Geoserver API, or another way?
I guess it depends on what you want to do. If you simply want to configure data in GeoServer, then yes the REST api would be the way to go. If you want to do things like restarting geoserver then that won;'t work.
A bit more specifics about how you want to control GeoServer should help us give better advice.
