[Geoserver-devel] Configuring GeoServer with JAVA

Hello,

I am using Geoserver since 3 weeks and start to enjoy it !
Until now, I was using the web interface to configure the server, but I would like to know if a JAVA API is provided to centralize the configuration in another Java program ?
I searched on the website but could not find any information.
I am using the 2.0 RC1.

Thanks in advance for your help !
Thomas

Great!

So there's a REST API that can be used to configure the server. See http://docs.geoserver.org/trunk/en/user/extensions/rest/index.html

Someone on the list just spent a bunch of time building a Java library that exercises the API, and I think they're getting permission from their employer to release as open source.

You should be able to find some decent rest client libraries that will help exercise the API.

best regards,

Chris
