Strictly speaking this isn’t necessarily a bug, but I figured I should ask about it rather than ignore it or open a JIRA straight off.
If I disable a layer by unchecking the “enabled” checkbox, The behavior then becomes rather odd:
========
- GetMap requests fail (expected). But there are ERROR level events in the log which are suggesting the datastore isn’t properly configured, and one that’s an “internal error”:
2013-05-10 13:32:50,080 ERROR [geoserver.wms] - Getting feature source: featureType: Public_Data_DB:MED_AE_HOSPITALS_MIDS does not have a properly configured datastore

…

========
- The icon next to that layer on the layer list becomes an error icon. Shouldn’t it be a red X or something to indicate it’s disabled rather than broken? I can’t find the error.png (I guess its packed somewhere) so can’t see what’s available.
========
- A GetLegend request for this layer is served. Should it be if the layer is disabled? I did leave “advertised” checked, though I think that should be super-seded.
========
Are any of these issues I should open a JIRA for?
Cheers,
Jonathan
