In the pom.xml of sldService component, there is reference to the restconfig module as:
<groupId>org.geoserver.extension</groupId
...I suppose it should be changed, since ReSTConfig is no longer an extension, am I wrong ?

It seems to me you’re right. It also seems that community module simply does not have
a maintainer at the moment.
I’ve heard of interest in working on it on and off for quite some time, but so far nothing
has materialized.
