An interesting idea came up in the state of geoserver talk today, setting the release data directory up as an example of internationalization.
It would be good to make the default release directory reflect the “best” setup of our software.
However internationalization also makes the setup pages look very complicated and intimidating. Perhaps a compromise would be to internationalize just one of the workspaces so there is a working example for folks to copy.
I suggest the “it.geosolutions” workspace as it is a natural fit to be translated into Italian, but it has no layers…
Meh… the data dir we have right now is geared towards simplicity.
If we had to go towards a “comprehensive demo” direction, we’d have to re-think it from the ground up IMHO (from the layers up).
