[Geoserver-devel] Dropping 2.7.7 from the release schedule

Hi,

There may really be reason to encourage users for testing 2.9. Beta1 included a startup.bat that did not start Geoserver on Windows but I do not remember seeing any complaints on the mailing list. Wondering if it means that nobody tried or that nobody cared.

Often with something like that it is assumed everyone else reported it - but yes we can do a bigger push for testing.

Yeah, it is really discouraging... agree with Jody, we can try to make a
bolder (even font wise!) request statement for test in beta2 :-p

I think I will highlight the testing already done and thank those who took part. It can both build confidence and show we appreciate the help and that it is necessary for the project to be successful.
