[Geoserver-devel] Easy OOM in 1.7.5

Hi,
due to an incomplete commit for
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOT-2538
from yours truly GS 1.7.5 will turn into a pumpkin each time someone
tries to zoom in a whole lot on large polygons with a non null stroke
in their SLD.

What shall we do? Release a 1.7.5a?
Release a replacement gt-api-2.5.6.jar for people experiencing the problem?
Just point people to nightly builds until we release 1.7.6?

Cheers
Andrea

I am personally in favour of releasing 1.7.6 as soon as possible
instead of a new 1.7.5.
Should not our motto be "release early release often"? We can just say
that there is such a problem and then make a new release a bit
earlier.

Simone.

I don't have a strong preference 1.7.5a vs 1.7.6. If this is the only significant fix i would say call it 1.7.5a, but if there are other bug fixes, or features, call it 1.7.6.

But posting the patched gt-api jar could be nice too. Do a quick blog post pointing people at it explaining the issue.

Afaik we have regressions in the mosaic as well, which would be
nice to have fixed by 1.7.6. Plus, there is the 3d KML stuff that
I'm about to commit as well (new feature).

Ok, I will add it to the todo piles (the first one got to the roof,
had to start another
