[Geoserver-devel] GeoREST letter?

Do we have any interest in having Andrea sign this thing (http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Geoservices_REST_API) as GeoServer project officer or some such?

Sorry I did not think of adding it to today’s meeting.

I believe everybody should be free to decide whether to sign it or not...
me included :-p

Cheers

I definitely agree with Andrea, people can sign as individual contributors,
I don't think we should try to make a statement as a project.

That is cool Andrea, I just had Cameron from work pestering me.

I kind of feel Chris Holmes feedback on geopackage is more of a hit to OGC credibility then this thing (i.e. out of touch).

Still to give 'em credit they do speak in the same style as the ISO standards guys. A different crew is needed to bring it home to developers.

I have been out of touch in this area for a while and just coming back in because I am working on a specificaton outside the geospatial area (for knowledge bases, that may or may not be spatially-aware), that is considering adopting the WPS either as is, or as a model.

I notice a deep divide between the ESRI GP Service, which dives right into specific processes, and WPS, which has the elegant abstract level that has caught our attention.

Some comments regarding this controversy talk about the W*S being also "broken", and the efforts underway to fix them. I can think of a few things about WFS that could fall into that category, but I am curious if such criticisms also apply to WPS, from your experience.

Best regards, Tara

+1.
