Hi Simone,
I am seeing this bug [1] in 1.7.3. I have tried to reproduce it on 1.7.4 as well, but so far I have not seen it there. The major difference is that the 1.7.3 instance is serving a big mosaic, whereas on my local 1.7.4 I only have a single 256 Mb GeoTIFF out of that mosaic. JAI and ImageIO are installed in both cases. Andrea pointed out that it appears to happen when the user zooms past the native resolution.
Can you shed some light on the issue? Like what the underlying cause is, whether any fixes went into 1.7.4... workarounds, hints for fixing ?
Thank you,
-Arne

Sorry, I got confused. I now understand GEOS-885 was actually a mosaic issue, not really applicable to individual GeoTIFFs.
End of correction, new error will follow shortly
