All,
I just downloaded geoserver 0.92 and am trying to set it up on a Win2k
box. I've got Sun's Java SDK 1.3.1_07, resin 2.1.6, and ant 1.5.1 loaded.
I build the geoserver.war file and move it to resin "webapps". I point
a browser at it and get error 500 Servlet Exception on
java/util/logging/logger.
I thought the Logger came out with Java 1.4. Also if I try to compile the
code,
it chokes in the references to the Logger.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Dennis

Yes, GeoServer now requires java 1.4. The docs have not been updated for
awhile, so they still say 1.3.1. This is due to geotools, which geoserver
is built on top of, moving their logging code to the java 1.4 logger, so
we changed ours for consistency's sake. If you run 1.4 it should fix the
problem.
