A couple marks of insanity (can we have the following links use both html or both htm ? )

  • GeoServer Administration - links is broken when new user first installs, it is the first thing they will try
  • GeoServer Documentation - link is broken (in a special way - see attached)

This is what will be checked when the first link does not work

  • okay starting geoserver …
  • may consider telling them the user that geoserver is loaded and which url they can visit to connect to it.
  • noticed a few complaints in the start geoserver output about postgis …

After starting geoserver the “GeoServer Administration” link functions

Based on new color scheme, nice, I need to make a new pdf walkthrough…
So time to uninstall …

  • uninstaller works, expect if you fail to stop geoserver …

After that Stop GeoServer no longer actually stops it …

Time to kill geoserver the old fashioned way … and uninstall.

Death … removing everything by hand (when I screw up I do so well)

Stay tuned for the udig tests … uDig 1.0.5 must go out!

I updated uDig docs (by way of testing GeoServer), walkthrough 2 includes updated GeoServer installation and use instructions based on the latest release:
