Checked that the PDF user manual has the right version and plenty of pages

Not related to the release, but noted that there is a section right at the end: “17.16.1 geoserver 2.7.0 on JBoss AS 5.1” – any objections to removing that, considering the age of 2.7 and that it isn’t even called JBoss any more?

Downloaded and installed the WAR on Tomcat8, starts up OK:

  • GeoServer Version 2.14-RC
  • Git Revision 5e6e4a798002c99d0494bb71fb921f2c0ce2c011
  • Build Date 21-Aug-2018 07:50
  • GeoTools Version 20-RC (rev 6b7ecb1a59368789ec130e3087276dcb5efc8a5d)
  • GeoWebCache Version 1.14-RC (rev master/2acfb90f7044b8ab376c589531aee66f47d2911d)

Checked some raster and vector layers preview OK, a couple of GetCapabilities, and some demo requests.

Seems OK – pretty light testing, but nothing concerning.

Tested GeoServer WAR from https://build.geoserver.org/geoserver/release/2.14-RC/ on Tomcat8

Default deployment:

  • Layers and Layer Groups are good
  • SLD editor and Legends work correctly
  • Creation of new data stores works as espected
  • Tested Shapefiles with time-dimension, ok

Tested several plugins:

  • WPS OK
  • WMTS MultiDim OK
  • Importer OK
  • Monitoring OK
  • GeoFence Server OK
  • Oauth2 OK
