[Geoserver-devel] geoserver 2.9-beta2 preflight testing

I am downloading and testing the DMG. Given the amount of changes in this beta2 I would appreciate confirmation the application starts up (ie is packaged correctly) on a range of platforms (linux, windows, etc…) before we announce.

Tested the Jetty artifact in both Oracle and OpenJDK on Ubuntu GNOME 15.04 The only problem I encountered was the 404 () when trying to log in from certain pages. (GEOS-7482)

Could not find logs, taking a wild guess and changing permissions on the data directory did not fix anything.

Thanks for the testing Jody. I’ll take a look at the mac dmg issue tomorrow. Appears to be something around the unlimited strength encryption jurisdiction files… but not sure. Might be somethign related to the server it was built on. I’ll start by building locally and see if I can reproduce.

I downloaded the geoserver-2.9-beta2-win.zip from http://ares.boundlessgeo.com/geoserver/release/2.9-beta2/geoserver-2.9-beta2-win.zip

I unzipped to a folder on my drive which contained

Not knowing how to start this, I simply ran the wrapper.exe as a double-click from Explorer
