[Geoserver-devel] GeoServer and GeoTools versions

Hi all, I'm just back to work (sigh...) and trying to remember things back
into place.

If I got it right, the last released version of GeoServer is 1.3.0-RC2 and
it's based on GeoTools 2.1.0.
What GT version is the current GeoServer trunk based on???

I have a few bug to fix on GT and I'm thinking of applying them only to the
2.2.x based trunk.
But if I do it that way, will I be able to use them with GeoServer or not???

Or should I start my own GeoServer branch, port it to GT 2.2.x and go on
working on it until
some point in the future when it may be merged into GeoServer 1.4.x or
something like that???

Bye

Hi Paolo, welcome home!
hope you had had a good vacation

GeoServer has not moved to GT trunk yet, it is running against 2.1.x branch.

If what you have to do is only bug fixes, would it be too much an overhead
applying them both to 2.2x trunk and 2.1.x branch?

I know David plans are to release GeoServer 1.3.0 based on GT 2.1 (pretty
sure, David?)

chances are that you start a GeoServer 1.4 branch and compromise to maintain
it aligned with the GeoServer trunk bug fixes that can arise until the
release? (it would be great, indeed)

cheers,

Gabriel
