[Geoserver-devel] Geoserver+Apache

Hello,

My name is Annie and I am working with some open source tools for my summer internship. I am trying to get NASA WorldWind, Apache, TileCache, and Geoserver to all work together on Windows XP and I am having a lot of trouble configuring everything to work together.
The system needs to work without the internet, so I am loading all of my raster imagery into GeoServer. I am then trying to configure WorldWind to get the WMS data from GeoServer. I was able to do this successfully.
However, I wanted to add a caching client inbetween… I read up a little bit about TileCache. On the GeoServer wiki, it seems to mention TileCache a lot. I installed Apache and added TileCache into its cgi-bin directory, but I don’t really know what to do from there.
Any pointers would be most helpful! Thank you!

All the best,
Annie

Hi Annie,

Once you have GeoServer + TileCache working together the next thing you will probably want to do is set up an OpenLayers front end. OpenLayers is tiling wms client which works great with GeoServer and TileCache. There is documentation directly in the TileCache README that explains how to set up TileCahce + OpenLayers.
