I've been configuring my own data and it works fine but when I make the GetFeature request with the typename = myfeature (which has a date type attribute) I get an exception report response.
Does anyone know why occurs this??

Is this with shapefile? I recently had another bug report of shapefiles
with dates. Could you provide a stack trace as well as the OS and version
of GeoServer you're working with? And if possible a copy of the
shapefile?
