Hi all,
I’m wondering, did anyone try to use GeoServer on Java 21 yet?
I’ve tried quickly today, because Java 21 has become the default version proposed on Windows and saw colleagues stumble on it. As far as I can tell, it works, as long as one removes the Marlin renderer integration from the startup scripts.
Regarding this topic, see also the “Time to drop the Marlin renderer dependency?” some six months ago, on this same list.
That said, thinking out loud… time to setup Java 21 build jobs, just to keep tabs on it?
(and yes, also upgrade Marlin and change the integration style, so that it can possibly work on Java 17 and maybe 21 too).
Cheers
Andrea
