Hi PSC,
in attachment you can find GeoSolutions proposal on how to use OSGeo UK funds to
improve QGIS SLD export capabilities.
Basically we are proposing to add a simple raster symbolizer export support in QGIS core.

If you paid attention to GeoSolutions previous crowdfunding campaign and associated task
list spreasheet you’ll notice immediately that the funding covers only a fraction of the development
cost for raster symbolizer export. The difference is managed in a couple of ways:

  • The spreadsheet task was meant to be comprehensive, vendor extensions included, while the attached proposal only covers the basics
  • However, the funding still does not cover the simplified tasks, GeoSolutions is going to in-kind the difference

Two thing - I am in favour of this proposal as a good way to make use of the generosity of OSGeo UK.

The next question is if should use some of our budget (since it was not used by the code sprint) to add to the OSGeo UK funds.

The activity is well in keeping with OSGeo interoperability goals and would help our users.

Based on review of the 2018 budget in today’s meeting we are asking the PSC to vote on the following motion:

Accept the provided scope of work “QGIS styling export proposal” for $1500, with the addition of a GeoServer User Guide tutorial covering the Raster Symbolizer export functionality for $1000.

We did not have enough PSC members in our meeting for quorum so this email requires your response.
