I especially like the possibility of a year of stable/maintenance release for GeoTools as it will cut down some of the IP overhead I am looking at for location tech.
Do we need a change proposal for this, or a +1 on the email good enough.

Right, me neither, but I would like to see the people that voiced some
possible variants
to try and lay them down so that we can all see them in detail.

Right, the time boxed proposal would have to be voted by both communities
in order to keep the releases of the two in synch.
