[Geoserver-devel] GeoServer release 2.7.4 possibly anticipated

Dear all,
as already discussed in a previous e-mail started by Simone Giannecchini,
since during this week the outcome of the GeoNode Code Sprint will finally (hopefully) bring to an official GeoNode 2.4 Release based on GeoServer 2.7.x, we may need to anticipate the release of GeoServer 2.7.4 from 18 DEC 2015 (as scheduled here https://github.com/geoserver/geoserver/wiki/Release-Schedule) to some day early during the current week.

We ask to proceed with the anticipation of GeoServer 2.7.4 release for mainly two reasons:

  1. The scheduled date is too far for the GeoNode release and we really need to avoid postpone the latter anymore

  2. There are 15 fixes already in place for the GeoServer 2.7.x (https://osgeo-org.atlassian.net/projects/GEOS/versions/11601) and maybe is not a bad idea doing a GeoServer 2.7.4 Release now and the 2.7.5 at the scheduled time 18 DEC 2015

Any feedback?

Regards,
Alessio Fabiani.

Alessio,

that sounds good to me. I have no objection. I trust that you have a release manager, perhaps Andrea?

Please update the release schedule:

Note that the 2.7.x CITE tests are still passing, so this job should be easier than mine!

Kind regards,
Ben.

That is fine Alessio, any project is free to step forward to make a release as needed (as long as they have volunteers such as yourself).

Please update the release schedule accordingly, we will release a 2.7.5 at the scheduled time.

Thank you for bridging the gap with the GeoNode community
