This one should not go in 2.9.0, it's a new feature and we are in freeze.
The GSIP mentions
it being scheduled for 2.10 and later:
https://github.com/geoserver/geoserver/wiki/GSIP-144
It can be backported after the one month cooldown if people want though.

inheritance of Layer Groups in virtual services

Likewise, new feature, only for master

Cheers
Andrea

We are aware … master is however available if those pull requests wish to be reviewed/merged.

Ah yep, it is, sorry, I saw those pull request in the 2.9.0 release section
and assumed you wanted to merge it there.

I guess you switched from release discussion to general pull request review without
creating a new section in the minutes, hence the misunderstanding

Cheers

Close: we had a pull request section and removed it when most were for the release, hence the misunderstanding.

Sorry, the minutes should have been clearer. It was a hectic meeting, with Skype problems, switch to Hangouts, screen sharing reviews, and more. Very productive, but not an ordinary meeting.
