ACTION: Ben: ask on mailing list for volunteer for 2.11.5.
Java 9/10/11
-
GeoTools Java 9 compatibility PR: https://github.com/geotools/geotools/pull/1798
-
Java 9 reaches End-of-Life in March 2018. Java 10 (18.3) reaches End-of-Life in September 2018. Java 11 (18.9 LTS) will be in General Availability from September 2018:
-
https://www.azul.com/java-stable-secure-free-choose-two-three/
-
RedHat and Oracle have donated all of JEE (JAXB, Servlet, etc) to Eclipse Foundation. Combined with Jigsaw, will require change to deployment.
-
Should think about how to factor GeoTools into modules.
-
Discussion about how to achieve this.
-
Need a proposal to target Java 11 (18.9). Use Java 9 to get it working first.
-
ACTION: Torben: propose GeoTools migration steps and refactoring for supporting Java 9 and future.
-
Need to upgrade GeoServer to Spring 5. Unlikely to be done by 2.13-beta.
GeoServer app-schema online tests
-
Database was offline for some reason.
-
Has been restarted.
-
Build running and connecting fine.
-
Update: build passed just as the meeting ended. Thanks Torben!
