Topics

  • BLOG POSTS) would like to do a geoserver blog post with links, afraid I did not get near a computer yet/ out last news announcement did not work out so well for slashgeo (they could not tell what is new). So I would like us to keep the “feature summary” in future release
  • SoC is done, but I cannot tell what happened
  • build box updates - what is going on where?
  • GeoServer release results

Actions:

BLOG POSTS

http://blog.geoserver.org/2013/09/20/geoserver-2-4-released/

Jody updated with feature summary. So update release guide.

GeoTools http://geotools.org/ ← blog post feed no longer there

http://landmark-project.com/feed2js/feed2js.php?src=http://geotoolsnews.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=rss&num=3&desc=75

That service is MIA so we need a replacement. GeoSolutions.it uses the following, no idea if the output is comparable:
http://geo-solutions.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?alt=json-in-script&callback=showPosts

SOC

Summer of Code result, update from Landon? Accept changes …

There is a pull request to review / merge: https://github.com/geotools/geotools/pull/279

Need a volunteer to review.

BuildBox

Official build box: http://ares.boundlessgeo.org/jenkins

  • does not test databases yet
  • poll over two hours? ← can we fix this

Windows build box: http://winbuild.geo-solutions.it/jenkins/

  • starts a build right after commits
  • geotools works
  • geoserver has trouble

Java 7 (OpenJDK7/Oracle JDK 7) build boxes:

CSIRO build box tests linux and path with spaces

  • Contact Ben

Java 6 vs Java 7

GeoServer 2.4.0 Release

Check out the downloads:

Feedback:

Discussion:

  • CSS module is being well received

Ideas out of FOSS4G:

  • QGIS ↔ SLD coudl do some work on functions & parser
  • QGIS ↔ GeoServer upload, ie via REST API (Boundless is doing something, GeoSolutions would like to help)

I think this has come up before but it would nice for the release info on geoserver to link to the corresponding release information on the associated geotools version since changes there can be very important for users. The change log only seems to list fixed bugs. This only tells part of the story. Would it be possible to link to associated GSIP in release notes?

could thought, we could link the “this release is made in conjunction with GeoTools 10.x” text to the related geotools announcement.
