GeoServer Incubation
Update: Jody screwed up and did not call a meeting this month - so no pressure.
We’re in a position to graduate, 2-3 data questions left open:
Review page: http://geoserver.org/display/GEOS/GeoServer+Provenance+Review
A few warnings:
- example https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-5420 - andrea provided details, but we would need README.rst or header comment
Blockers:
- http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-5461 Docs copyright is incorrect ← David Winslow help we cannot do anything without you as you are Author and there is no documentation license giving us permissiong to act!
- http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-5466 Check release data license
Question:
- We do not have a documentation license? Do we want want - CC by A is pretty normal? Action: Write up a formal GSIP for this.
- Code Contribution via GitHub? Treat as Jira / Patch. Slightly troubled as github pull requests can get large! Consider: contribution.rst with a note that they are agreeing to donate the code to GeoServer?
- Check if it is TOPP or OpenPlans
Update headers:
- Most headers updated already by Jody.
- WMS module has had an extensive manual review: https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-5450 providing last modificaiton date for each file, with the request that the headers be updated to reflect this.
Request:
- Can Andrea (or Justin) write a thank you to the code sprint crew? (They now know how much work you both have done - so it would mean more coming from you).
Backports to 2.2.x
On mailing list (free marker, rest config, layer groups, json exceptions, …).
Additive / minor - so go ahead! After the release …
Backport Conversation:
- bug fix - yes!
- API change / core change - PSC Vote (take this email list)
Relase Anoucnements
- GeoTools: Jody reviewed
- GeoServer: Andrea reviewed
De-xerces-ification
Yay less jars!
- JD: Issue pull request (merge Ben’s changes from app-schema)
- Proposal? Yeah probably, it was one of the reasons for GeoTools proposal. But yeah make it short, link to email discussion and lets rock and roll.
Feature Collection Cleanup is done
Yay, enough said.
Andrea fixed something with shapefiles being locked, AbstractDataStore was leaving an iterator open (since it did not implement Closeable).
Postgis-versioned is removed along with wfsv
Q: Do we need “next generation” now? Not really needed.
