Sprint is being planned - please sign up now

Updates:

Proposal for GeoTools:

Proposal for GeoServer:

  • GSIP 171 Java 18.9 Compatibility

  • We can relax and just focus on running with Java 11

  • Still using the CLASSPATH for geoserver

  • Still use automatic module names

  • As for repackaging just go ahead and untangle conflicts because we are are not a library

Approach:

  • Start concurrently concurrently:

  • Repackage core GeoTools library

  • GeoServer spring , log4j, hazelcast

  • GWC hazelcast, spring, commons logging and log4j

  • Integration time

  • Update GeoTools plugins

  • Update GWC to new GeoTools package structure

  • Update GeoSever to new GeoTools package structure

  • Cleanup

  • GeoTools documentation and code examples

  • GeoServer xstream converter quality assurance

Post sprint:

  • Try for a milestone release in November/December

  • RC Feb, Release March (so we have 2 month gap with no supported java env)
