Hey guys (and anyone else who's reading),
I have the task of loading up NASA's global mosaic into geoserver, and I have a few questions before proceeding. I know you guys have done a little of this stuff and I'm pretty much learning from scratch with this whole raster data thing.
A few questions I have are:
- I see the data as zipped files (http://telascience.sdsc.edu/tela_data/onearth/) but there are several hundred of them and without FTP access, is there a handy way to download all of these files without hiring 100 monkeys with 100 PCs?
- It looks like the one set of GeoTIFFs are just chromatic and I need to combine them with the others to get color. If this is correct, how do I go about doing this?
- Simone, once I get all of the files can I just dump them in a directory and point geoserver at them?
If you guys have any hints or links to get me started that would be great! I also plan to write up this experience and make a tutorial out of it. If you guys know someone who can answer my questions, could you forward this message onto them?
Thanks in advance,
